"Is it music or noise?" "Is it techno or ambient?"

We tend to trust what we hear, but we sometimes forget how conflicting that can be. How are you going to deal with sounds which are just impressions of other sounds? What about rhythms that are just oscillations or chords hidden in noise? Which part of the music is imagined and which part does "really" exist?

I made the image first with my video synthesizer which had become the cover of this EP.
At that time I did not know when my musician's block was going to wear off. Switching my instruments on again after 5 months, I ended up breaking away from my comfort zone.

Everything is rough here and just about to beat against everything else. I was turning a lot of my tools to a rather complicated direction during these sessions: modulated polyrhythms, non-synced oscillators for the chords which are on the verge of beating against each other. I was also using a lot of multi-band audio-based modulation with feedback loops. (Hats off to LZX for crafing the Sensory Translator module).

All tracks were recorded live with no overdubs.
